March 11, 2017  - Women's rights: Conference on Juridical Dialogue and Comparative analysis of  diverse legislation

The event was independently organized by the Juridical Intercultural Center in the historical Villa Ca' Rezzonico in Bassano del Grappa (VI)

Culture of Comprehensive Dialogue

The Conference will examine women's rights between tradition and modernity through the diverse legislation systems.  Drawing on the experience of women from diverse societies and environments, who fought for their rights and became leaders of change, the conference will seek to identify the role of women in development. It will put in the core immigrant women in Italy. Nevertheless, the analysis of the legislation on women's rights wont be limited on the host country but will include the country of origin as well.

Dialogue is essential in the process of knowing and understanding. To know means to seek to live the change. Just then the change can become part of every day lives of all women in all societies.  Therefore, the Center, previously Agami, in the role of the organizer and speaker on diverse conferences  and events in Italy and abroad seek to encourage the Agami - Culture of Juridical Dialogue.

The goal is to create an output which wil provide a unique opportunity for all participants to improve the understanding of diverse legislations on women's rights through a Comrehensive Juridical Dialogue between representatives from private and public sector of different societies.

The Conference is organized by the President of the Center, Kaoutar Badrane, the author of the book: "The Family Code in Morocco", published by the University Library, as a legal guide in which she explains what will change with the new reform, commenting, and translating into Italian, for the first time over 400 articles of "Moudawwana to Usra"- Moroccan Family Law.

INVITATION LETTER

I hereby, with a great honor invite You to attend the Conference, which will be held on the March 11, 2017 at the Villa Rezzonico in Bassano Del Grappa (VI). The event will examine the changed role and rights of women due to challenges of the modernity. Women are in the core of this event, their empowerment and participation in all aspects of civil life.

The program will give to the attendant an opportunity to examine changes in the legislation systems through the comparative analysis pertaining to this topic. Thus, they will observe women’s rights and responsibilities inevitably changed under challenges of modernity. In the case of the immigrant women, not only in the host country, in this case Italy but also in the country of origin. Often, women are not aware of changes in the legislation system in their countries of origin and their rights. Moreover, they are not aware and consequently do not acknowledge differences in the law system, perception of law itself and its application in the host country. This leads to the marginalization of the woman in all societies. Being aware means having a possibility to react.

The goal is to bring together diverse cultures and traditions, to give idea-focused presentations and provoke discussions that matter. Withall, the aim is to confront development of diverse legislation systems under challenges of modernity and create useful output for further work and research of all participants.  Furthermore, there will be an informal session incorporated into the program where will presented culture and tradition of diverse communities in Veneto and not only.

The Conference will attend Italian local and regional authorities, representatives of diverse Diplomatic Missions in Italy and representatives of civil society. Moreover, it would be a great honor if You participate with a presentation regarding the women rights and a brief technical intervention on the changed legislation system and development of the women rights in Your country, and / or take action on any other issue of Your particular interest, related to the object of the meeting.

Sincerly,

Kaoutar Badrane

President of the Agami - Juridical Intercultural Center
